Certificates: our promise in black and white
We have ourselves independently audited on a regular basis. This page explains in simple terms what GOTS and IVN BEST mean, how they differ, and what this means specifically for you and your child.
IVN BEST - The gold standard for natural textiles
It doesn't get any stricter than this! Maximum ecological standards for healthy skin.
The standard of the International Association of Natural Textile Industry (IVN) is considered the strictest ecological textile label worldwide. While other standards allow blended fibers, IVN BEST requires 100% natural fibers from controlled organic cultivation (kbA) or controlled organic animal husbandry (kbT).
For our Disana products, this means: We consciously avoid synthetic finishing and questionable chemicals. The residue limits set by IVN BEST are so strict that they far surpass legal requirements and often even exceed those of other organic labels. The result is a textile that is completely "honest"—breathable, skin-friendly, and absolutely safe.
More InformationenGOTS - The global standard for trust
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the world's leading certification for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. It not only guarantees the organic quality of the wool, but also monitors the entire production chain. From the yarn to the knitting and sewing, right through to shipping from our location in Lichtenstein, Baden-Württemberg – everything is independently inspected and certified.
The GOTS seal assures you that our products are not only ecologically sound but also manufactured under socially fair conditions. It is proof of complete traceability and a transparent supply chain.

Certificates explained simply
What exactly is a textile certificate?
An independent auditing institute inspects the entire production process, from raw material to finished garment, and confirms that defined ecological and social rules are being followed. disana has itself regularly audited externally for this purpose.
Why does disana hold two labels, GOTS and IVN BEST?
GOTS is the globally recognised standard for organic textiles. IVN BEST goes further, requiring 100% natural fibres with no blending whatsoever. disana meets both standards, so you can rely on certified quality regardless of the product.
What does this mean specifically for my baby?
No synthetic finishing, no harmful chemicals, and residue limits that fall below the statutory requirements. The result is a textile that can be worn directly against sensitive skin.
Is disana wool mulesing-free?
Yes. Our sheep live in Patagonia, where a constant wind naturally keeps insects, and therefore parasite infestation, at bay. This makes the painful practice of mulesing unnecessary.
