The Knitted Nappy

The knitted nappy is the centrepiece of our disana nappy system. Our brief changing instructions show you how to change your child's nappy easily and safely.

Let's go

Lay the knitted nappy lengthwise on the changing table in front of you. Fold the narrow front part of the nappy over once up to the ties. Fold the upper, wide edge of the nappy in slightly too. Depending on how far you fold it in, you can adjust the size of the nappy to fit your child.

Step 1

Place a molton insert on top of the prepared knitted nappy to act as an absorbent layer. A sheet of nappy liner is usually placed on top of this to make it easier to remove the worst of the dirt when changing the nappy.

Now lay your baby on the prepared nappy package. Your child is lying correctly when the upper edge of the nappy is about 2-3 cm above an imaginary line above the navel.

Breite die Strickwindel der Länge nach auf dem Wickeltisch vor dir aus. Das schmale Vorderteil der Windel wird bis zu den Bändern einmal umgeschlagen. Auch der obere, breite Windelrand wird ein wenig eingeschlagen. Je nach dem, wie weit du ihn einschlägst, kannst du die Größe der Windel der deines Kindes anpassen.

Schritt 1

Auf die vorbereitete Strickwindel wird eine Moltoneinlage als saugfähige Einlage gelegt. Darauf kommt meist ein Blatt Windelvlies, um beim Windelwechsel ganz einfach den gröbsten Schmutz entfernen zu können. Lege nun dein Baby auf das so vorbereitete Windelpaket. Richtig liegt dein Kind, wenn der obere Rand der Windel etwa 2 -3 cm oberhalb einer gedachten Linie über dem Bauchnabel verläuft.

Step 2

First, pull the molton insert and nappy liner upwards between the legs and gently hold it in place on the tummy with one hand. Now fold up one corner of the top of the nappy, then the other, and hold them in place on the baby's tummy with your hand.

Keep the fabric slightly taut as you do this.

Step 3

Now pull the nappy cover up over the tummy with the ties between the legs. Make sure that you keep the fabric slightly taut and that the nappy and nappy insert do not form large folds that could pinch or rub your baby.

Finally, cross the nappy ties behind your baby's back and pull them back to the front. Simply tie them together to form a loop. If your baby is still very small, make sure that the loop does not press on their navel.

Schritt 3

Nun ziehst du den Windellatz mit den Bändern zwischen den Beinchen über den Bauch hoch. Dabei darauf achten dass du auch hier den Stoff ein wenig unter Spannung hältst und dass Windeln und Windeleinlage keine großen Falten bilden, die dein Baby drücken oder reiben könnten. Zuletzt werden die Bindebänder der Windel hinter Babys Rücken gekreuzt und wieder nach vorne gezogen. Dort einfach zu einer Schlaufe zusammenbinde. Ist dein Baby noch sehr klein, solltest du darauf achten, dass die Schlaufe nicht auf den Bauchnabel drückt.

Step 4

The fine knit makes the nappy pleasantly elastic, so that it adapts well to your baby's body and movements. Your child is not constricted, but gently enclosed and has plenty of space to move.

Step 5

The disana wool nappy pants are pulled over the nappy package as a waterproof but breathable cover. Their soft cuffs gently seal the nappy package around the tummy and legs. Make sure that no part of the knitted nappy is visible below the cuffs.

The natural properties of wool ensure that nothing leaks and the nappy package remains watertight for many hours. In addition, it keeps your baby nice and warm without overheating, as wool regulates temperature very well.

Schritt 5

Als wasserdichte, aber luftdurchlässige Hülle wird die disana Wollwindelhose über das Wickelpaket gezogen. Ihre weichen Bündchen schließen das Windelpaket sanft an Bauch und Beinchen ab. Achte darauf, dass kein Stück der Strickwindel mehr unter den Bündchen hervorschaut.

Die natürlichen Eigenschaften der Wolle sorgen dafür, dass nichts ausläuft und das Windelpaket über viele Stunden dicht hält. Zusätzlich hält sie dein Baby schön warm ohne zu überhitzen, da Wolle Temperaturen sehr gut ausgleicht.
